I have wanted to go to Spain for as long as I can remember. Finally, I am here. With a program from the University of Colorado, I am in Madrid for four weeks and Barcelona for one, studying art history. The courses are taught in english, but on my own I am also here to study Spanish language and culture by immersing myself in it, and journalism, writing, and my soul through my experiences and channeling them through this blog. Enjoy. ¡Que se divierta!

Father's Day
It only occurred to me yesterday, Monday, that Sunday was Father's Day. As I don't really have a father around, I guess I had not memorized the day. Gene was as close to a father as it get for my pre-teen and adolescent years, so, after my mom pointed out to me in an email that I scattered his ashes on Father's Day, I thought to myself, "of course it was the sunny Sunday I'd been waiting for!"
